The ARRL Northern New York Section is sponsored this first time operating event. The event took place on September 12th – 14th 2025.
Activators operated mobile or portable radio stations in POTA locations, State Forests, State Parks, Summits, Fire Towers, and other sites within the Adirondack State Park and surrounding locations. This inaugural event is open to all properly licensed ham radio operators, both as Activators and Hunters. Activators may operate on all HF bands, UHF and VHF (simplex). There are numerous camping locations located within and adjacent to the Adirondack State Park which would be suitable for those Activators desiring to set up their stations for the weekend.
Participation certificates will be awarded to both Activators and Hunters at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels based on the number of contacts logged during the event. The number of contacts required for each award level are still under discussion.
Clothing items specially designed to recognize this inaugural event are available for purchase. Get Your T-Shirt Here!
We are encouraging Activators to activate different locations within the Adirondacks and surrounding area so we can provide a large pool for hunters and other activators to make contacts with. Considering the geographical size of the Adirondacks, there are innumerable locations suitable for portable radio operations. A registration form for this event will be available soon for Activators to sign-up.
The exchange is simple. Callsign, Signal Reports and optionally any POTA, SOTA or Fire Tower information if you are operating from a Park, Fire Tower or Summit.
Log sheets will be available here soon. You may also download N1MM logger HERE and set it up for this event.
